President Trump on Monday again went after the media.

President Trump on Monday mocked the media during his address prior to the signing of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019.   While the message was a familiar one, he did employ a new approach in delivering it at Fort Drum in New York.  After pointing to the press cameras at the event, Trump said, "I'm so proud of myself. I didn't call them the Fake News Media." He continued: "I said to myself, 'I will not today in front of our great armed forces call them Fake News.' We know the real truth, but we won't say it today."  Generally, his attacks on the press are more along the lines of his August 5 tweet.
"The Fake News hates me saying that they are the Enemy of the People only because they know it's TRUE. I am providing a great service by explaining this to the American People. They purposely cause great division & distrust. They can also cause War! They are very dangerous & sick!" Trump wrote.
