Flights were grounded at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport on Friday, August 10, after an Horizon Air plane was stolen from the airport before crashing near Ketron Island.
Military aircrafts were scrambled to pursue the plane, which took off without authoritization. The plane, which had no passengers on board, crashed near Ketron Island, W7VOA News reported.

In a post on Facebook, Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air’s parent company, confirmed the plane was stolen at about 8 pm and subsequently crashed near Ketron Island.
“We have confirmed that a Horizon Air Q400 that had an unauthorized takeoff from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport around 8pm has gone down near Ketron Island in Pierce County, Washington,” the post said.
“We are working to confirm who was on board, but it is believed that there were no passengers or crew on board other than the person operating the plane. NTSB has been notified.” Credit: Terri Emge via Storyful
