A team of researchers in China filmed the moment they came across 30 rare white dolphins leaping out of the sea.
Video captured by a marine mammal research team off the coast of southern China’s Dongfang City on Monday (August 6) shows white dolphins leaping out of the sea one-by-one.
White dolphins are a protected species in China and are sometimes referred to as the "giant panda of the seas."
On its website, the wildlife conservation charity WWF writes: "In recent years, the Chinese white dolphin has been facing a number of threats: overfishing, water pollution and heavy marine traffic, along with coastal development.
"These threats have had a major and cumulative impact on the population for years. It is necessary to take a proactive approach in order to conserve the remaining population of the species before it’s too late."
