Police and student protesters clashed in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on August 6 as demonstrations continued over the country’s road safety conditions.
The ongoing protests began after two students were killed by a bus in Dhaka on July 29. On Monday, local media reported that police used tear gas to disperse protesters at North South University. This footage shows scenes outside the university on Monday afternoon.
The violence followed days of protests in the capital. On Saturday, local media reported that clashes broke out between the protesters and pro-government groups, including members of the Bangladesh Chhatra League, a student organisation linked to the ruling Awami League party.
