Passengers wait for information after Frankfurt Airport's Terminal 1 was closed as part of a security alert.

Reports say an unauthorised person made his way past security before disappearing.

Federal police tweeted: “In area A of Terminal 1 at Frankfurt airport, there are police intervention measures.

“This includes an immediate boarding stop and clearing the security area in levels 2 and 3.

“Further information will follow.”
