The death toll from a powerful earthquake in the Indonesian island of Lombok is said to have reached around 100,... but officials fear the number could rise even further.
Ro Aram has the latest.
Local authorities said Monday that the death toll from the previous day's 6.9-magnitude earthquake climbed to at least 98, with more than two hundred others injured.
Other reports claim the figure is more than 140.
Most of the deaths were caused by falling debris from crumbling buildings.
Search and rescue operations are still underway, but there are areas which rescuers have not been able to reach yet so there is a chance the death toll could climb.
Since the quake, there have been more than 120 aftershocks, some of them felt some one-hundred kilometers away in Bali.
Sunday's quake was the second to hit Lombok in just a week.
More than twenty-thousand locals have lost their homes and the Indonesian military has sent humanitarian aid to help with the evacuation.
