A large fire broke out at a waste-processing center in Athis-Mons, south of Paris, on August 1, causing a thick plume of smoke to rise near Orly airport. The airport said traffic was unaffected.
Local reports said the fire at the facility was caused by the explosion of a compactor. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
