North Korea is urging South Korea to be more active in resuming operations at the inter-Korean Kaesong Industrial Complex... and restarting tours to North Korea's Mount Kumgang.
Pyongyang's state-run newspaper Rodong Sinmun released an op-ed on Tuesday... claiming Seoul is prioritizing 'foreign forces' over 'inter-Korean relations' and that it's not brave enough to bring up resuming these operations and tours.
It argued that these inter-Korean projects did not came to a halt because of the sanctions, and therefore should be pushed ahead with regardless of the sanctions.
The inter-Korean Kaesong Industrial Complex was shut down in February 2016 after North Korea conducted its fourth nuclear test.
And South Korean tours to North Korea's Mount Kumgang stopped after a South Korean tourist was shot dead in 2008.
South Korea's vice unification minister is to visit Mount Kumgang tomorrow to check the renovations ahead of next month's family reunions. Seoul has stressed this has nothing to do with resuming tours to Mount Kumgang.
