Zhang Wei is a patient of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal disease that kills the nerve cells that control walking, eating and breathing.

Doctors predicted that Zhang wouldn't live to his 30th birthday. However, the 29-year-old has challenged his disease by climbing Mount Tai and Mount Hua, two of the most renowned Five Great Mountains of China.

Zhang accomplished his two attempts with the help from Meng Mian, a kind woman who voluntarily takes care of him. Zhang said his next goal is to visit the Great Wall.
