Trump May Get Rid of Security Clearances for Obama-Era Critics Donald Trump may revoke security clearances of six former top national security officials who have been critical of his presidency. Critics say the move would be an unprecedented politicization of the clearance process. Those in question include: Former CIA Director John Brennan, Former director of national intelligence James Clapper, and former FBI Director
James Comey. Also mentioned are former CIA Director Michael Hayden, Former national security adviser Susan Rice, and Andrew McCabe, who was Trump’s deputy FBI director until his firing in March this year. All of the leaders have served in both Democratic and Republican administrations, including the
current one.
