North Korea is reportedly insisting on signing peace treaty with the United States.
Citing unnamed sources, CNN says Pyongyang will not likely proceed further with denuclearization talks if Washington is unwilling to make a (quote) "bold move" of replacing the armistice agreement with a permanent peace treaty that will ensure the security of the Kim Jong-un regime.
This can be interpreted as Pyongyang's willingness to establish a legally binding peace treaty,... which requires the approval of two-thirds of the U.S. Senate.
The article also explains the North is pressuring the Trump administration to lift sanctions against the regime,... believing they've been fulfilling their promises.
While the North says it has taken big steps by freezing its nuclear and missile testing, destroying one of its nuclear sites and facilitating the upcoming repatriation of U.S. service members' war remains,...
