Steve Pollack, CEO of Anchor Loans, discusses how he started the fix and flip lender company and his early stages in the real estate industry. From the unlikely training as an Optometrist, Steve was interested in real estate and found himself as a rental property owner. He quickly realized he did not enjoy being an optometrist but did enjoy real estate. Steve sold his practice and began doing some real estate investing as a fix-and-flipper. He then began a career as a professional poker player and took his earnings and began to invest as a trust deed investor with some friends. They realized that they were better off forming a company and being in control of their own money. This thought process saw the formation of fix-and-flip lender company Anchor Loans in 1998.
