Two children suffered shark attacks in waters off Fire Island on Wednesday, July 18, prompting officials to close certain beaches on South Shore.
This video filmed by a bystander shows one shark that was caught in Kismet, a beach community on Fire Island, in the aftermath of the attacks.
Officials confirmed to Newsday that two sharks were caught late Wednesday afternoon, one in Kismet on Fire Island and the other 50 yards east of Atlantique.
