Virat Kohli added another record to his illustrious career when he became the fastest to reach 3000 ODI runs as skipper. The Indian cricket team star reached this milestone in the 10th over of the third ODI encounter against England in Headingley when he guided a short delivery from David Willey to third man for a single. Virat Kohli took just 49 innings to reach the landmark - 11 innings faster than previous record holder AB de Villiers (60 innings). The other names on the list include MS Dhoni (70 innings), Sourav Ganguly (74 innings), Greame Smith and Misbah-ul-Haq (83 innings) and Sanath Jayasuriya and Ricky Ponting (84 innings). Kohli looked in tremendous form against the England bowlers in Headingley and he had no problems in scoring his 48th ODI fifty. The skipper was forced to take charge early after the dismissal of opener Rohit Sharma in the sixth over and since then, Kohli has been dominating the proceedings. He was finally dismissed by Adil Rashid for 71.
