Section 377 is the colonial era law that prohibits same-sex sexual relations between consenting adults. In 2013 the Supreme Court struck down the 2009 order of the Delhi High Court which had legalised homosexual acts among consenting adults. Alumni from IIT’s LGBTQ group ‘Pravritti’ are among the petitioners, asking the Supreme Court to recognise them as queer people and grant them the freedoms and protections accorded to every citizen of the country. The alumni narrate their experiences with Section 377 and how it has affected them personally.
