Violent scenes soured jubilant celebrations that erupted in Paris on Sunday, July 15, after the French national football team defeated Croatia in Moscow to claim the FIFA World Cup.

In this video, looters can be seen targeting a scooter shop on the Avenue de la Grande Armée.

About 4,000 police officers patrolled the French capital’s streets as hundreds of thousands of people turned out to celebrate the 4-2 victory, Actu17 reported. It marked only the second time France has won the World Cup in the competition’s history. Credit: arthdvtn via Storyful
