Build-A-Bear stores were forced to shut down on July 12 after the store’s “Pay Your Age” promotional event brought huge crowds around the United States.

According to the store’s official website, stores were told to no longer accept guests at their U.S. stores per local authorities “due to crowd and safety concerns.”

Caitlin Bormann shared footage of a line of parents and children in Davenport, Iowa, that appeared to wrap around the local mall. “10/10 would not recommend going to build a bear at Northpark. Line is from one end of mall to the other,” Bormann tweeted. Credit: Caitlin Bormann via Storyful
