Ministers are expected to start declaring their assets within a few weeks once a code of ethics has been finalised by the cabinet.
The National Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption (GIACC) head Abu Kassim Mohamed said those expected to declare their assets include deputy ministers and government MPs.
Abu Kassim reiterated that the Harapan government’s asset declaration initiative is different from that of the previous administration, as the latter only required ministers to declare their assets to the prime minister.
However, the present ministers' asset declaration will be submitted to the MACC.
