Uber to Begin Renting Scooters Through New Partnership Uber will start renting out scooters through its app thanks to a partnership with electric scooter company Lime. Uber is investing in Lime as part of a $335 million financing round. Uber plans to promote Lime in its mobile application and slap its logo on the scooters. Since Lime was founded 18 months ago, the California-based company has raised $467 million. It was founded by Travis VanderZanden, a former Uber executive who has adopted a

to his former employer. Lime's service lets customers rent scooters scattered around cities and leave them on the sidewalk for the next person to pick up.
