Areas of western Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh, were being hit by flash flooding from July 2, with more flooding expected on July 5 as storms continued to sweep over the area, according to WPXI News.
This video shared July 3 shows rushing fast-moving floodwaters carrying away a dumpster in Pittsburgh. Roads are seen to be entirely submerged while the waters push up against buildings. A flash-flood warning was in effect for the area when the video was taken.
Some areas of Pittsburgh had seen around three inches of rain by July 5, according to a meteorologist at WTAE Pittsburgh. The National Weather Service issued a flash-flood watch for up to July 6.
