Members of a tribe in Indonesia throw ritual offerings such as fruit, flowers, and even livestock into a live volcano.
Footage captured on July 1 at Mount Bromo, East Java, shows how the Tengger tribe cast items into the smoking crater in the annual occurrence.
In the video, other people who are not members of the small ethnic group catch the offerings before they are lost to the smoky volcano.
The ritual forms part of the ancient month-long Yadnya Kasada festival.
Thousands now attend the event, with tourists scaling the mountains in order to launch coins into the crater.
