Refugees at Balukhali camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, worked to reinforce their homes on July 4, after an aid worker reported that that several overnight landslides toppled latrines, spilling human waste around the site.
The Bangladesh monsoon season brings torrential rains as well as the threat of cyclones, landslides, and flash-floods, according to the United Nations.
More than 700,000 Rohingya currently reside in the Cox’s Bazar camps and are forbidden from building permanent structures, Al Jazeera reported.
