PATRIOTS beat Chargers 21-13 in Ugly Fashion - Five from Foxboro with Trags

FOXBORO -- The weather wasn't nearly as ugly as the game for the Patriots. But in the end, the fans weathered the gray skies and the Patriots outlasted the Los Angeles Chargers, 21-13, Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium.

Playing their first game without Dont'a Hightower (pectoral surgery), Elandon Roberts picked up the slack with several big tackles in the first half and Kyle Van Noy provided edge pressure in the second half as the Patriots head into their bye week with a 6-2 record.

Tom Brady wasn't spectacular but effective enough, completing 32-of-47 passes for 333 yards and Stephen Gostkowski converted 4-of-6 on field goal attempts. The rain and wind held off long enough for the Patriots to take advantage of shoddy Chargers' special teams to build a two-score lead and then hold on.
