It may be no surprise to some, but South Korea has been ranked the world's most connected society.
According to U.S.-based Pew Research Center,... the country's internet penetration rate -- measured by internet use or smartphone ownership -- stood at 96 percent.
That puts South Korea at the top of the list among the 37 countries surveyed.
It was followed by the Netherlands and Australia... both at 93 percent.
And though the digital divide between advanced and developing countries persists,... it's a different story when it comes to social media use.
Jordan topped that list at 75 percent,... followed by Lebanon at 72 percent.
South Korea came tied third place with 69 percent.
