Use of plastic items in Maharashtra will be banned from June 23. This includes carry-bags and thermacol as well. The state government had imposed the ban on manufacturing, use, sale, distribution and sale of plastic material such as one-time bags, spoons, plates, PET and PETE bottles and thermacol on March 23 this year. Three months were given for the disposal of the existing stocks. Those found violating the ban would be fined. But certain plastic items have been excluded from the list of banned items.
