Here's some classic Peanuts for you to get your summer started right. This is the ending scene from "You're The Greatest, Charlie Brown" from 1979. Maybe Charlie Brown is a winner after all! Or is he? Enjoy!!!

In this scene, Charlie Brown does the final event: the 1500m race. If Charlie Brown wins, he wins the decathlon. The race starts, & Charlie Brown & Marcie wish each other good luck. When they start running, Charlie Brown takes the lead, making Lucy the think the world is ending. However, Charlie Brown starts thinking about how he thinks he will win, & doesn't keep his eyes on the track. Then, Charlie Brown & Peppermint Patty are sitting under a tree. Charlie Brown apologizes for losing, & Patty says it's okay, because the school won anyway. It's also revealed that Fabulous Freddie got in a fight with the Masked Marvel, & both were disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct. Marcie was the one who broke the tape, & thus won the 1500 meter race, making their school win.

"Hey! I'm out in first. Maybe I do have a chance to win. Maybe I will be the hero. Wow! I'm going to win! I'm going to win the decathlon! They'll treat me like Bruce Jenner! Parades! Flowers! Wow! It's great being a winner. So peaceful & quiet." says Charlie Brown thinking about winning the decathlon.

"Charlie Brown has the lead! I may faint!" says Lucy Van Pelt.

"You're a great competitor & a real gentleman. I think you're the greatest, Charles." says Marcie to Charlie Brown.

I own nothing.
