Grammy nominated DJ and Producer Jay-J once again teams up with the multi talented vocalist Latrice Barnett after previous collaborations including the 2003 smash 'Keep On Rising'. This is a beautifully crafted song that infuses orchestral disco strings with some wokachika guitar funk, overlaid by the powerful and soulful voice of Latrice. The refreshing natural feel of the production is only enforced by the instrumental version and a live mix '" a nice touch. Jay-J's Shifted Up Instrumental Mix steers the track in a different direction with finger tappin' bongo and an acid bounce of a bassline. The keys dart in and out building the anticipation and with a smidgen of sampled vocals Jay-J's alternative version is sure to have the dancefloors jumpin'. For anyone who thought the track was just too happy, Jay-J's next mix pushes the track towards the darkside. The constant thuddering underlying bass is accompanied by the surging almost electric guitar like synth that cuts through the track. The searing synth gets warped out in the breakdown although the track does retain some of the happy vibe of the original with snippets of its vocal and some decidedly housey keys. If that still ain't hard enough for you then Jay-J passes the remix baton onto Stacey Burket for the final mix and he responds with this even darker, banging rendition that whacks you round the head from the off, with background echoey vocals whispering to you through the haze of the dance floor. It all builds to a simple breakdown featuring Latrice's voice over some big beats before winding up again with an interesting springy, twisted bass. From the original edit to the final mix you get a set of tracks that span the timeline of a nights clubbing. From the sunny daytime disposition of the original '" to the bouncy upbeat early evening house of the Shifted mix to the final two dirtier late night versions, quality tracks all day and night. A track destined for sunny days and beach bars alike, one to further brighten that impending summertime.
