About 400 people were airlifted from Switzerland’s Schilthorn mountain on June 21 after the cable car connecting the summit to the town below broke down.

According to local reports, five helicopters were deployed to transport between 300 and 400 people down the mountain to the town of Mürren below.

The company responsible for the operation of the cable car said that the evacuation was initiated due to the threat of stormy weather and was completed after two hours.

The mountain was featured in the 1969 James Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, starring George Lazenby. Credit: fenwicklee via Storyful
