Day-7 of the 2018 Russia World Cup kicked off at Moscow's famous Luzhniki Stadium,... where Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugul took on Morocco in their second Group B match.
Ronaldo,... who's rumored to be headed out of Real Madrid,... was letting his football do the talking,... adding his fourth goal of the tournament right from the get-go,... heading home in the 4th minute.
Morocco created several chances to level things,... but the Portuguese defense kept them at bay,... as Portugal would hold on for the one-nil victory,... giving them four points in Group B,... while Morocco suffered their second straight loss.
In Rostov-On-Don,... Uruguay booked their place in the round of 16,... thanks to Luis Suarez's 23rd minute goal that was enough to beat Saudi Arabia.
Uruguay's one-nil win also officially seals Russia's spot in the knockout stages,... as both teams have six points,... with the host nation ahead on goal difference.
The two countries will face off in their final Group A match next Monday.
Finally in Kazan,... Iran were looking to add to the number of upsets at the World Cup,... and kept things level against Spain in the first half despite Spain throwing everything at them.
But the Iranian defense eventually buckled,... with Diego Costa's goal in the early stage of the second half breaking the deadlock.
In the 63rd minute,... Iran's Saeid Ezatolahi had a goal ruled offside,... and the video assistant referee concurred with the initial call,... helping to ensure Spain kept their one-nil lead until the final whistle.
