Clouds of steam rose over Kapoho Bay on Hawaii’s Big Island after a stream of lava from the Kilauea volcano made contact with the sea on Monday, June 4.

The USGS shared aerial footage showing the lava from Fissure 8 forming a delta in Kapoho Bay. The agency earlier tweeted that locals had reported seeing lava on the shore of Kapoho Bay on Sunday evening.
