Sarah Hucakbee Sanders on Monday weighed in on President Trump's tweet earlier in the day.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Monday weighed in on President Trump's remark about having the right to pardon himself.  ABC News' Jonathan Karl asked at a press briefing, "Why does he think that? And does he also agree with Rudy Giuliani, his lawyer, that a pardon for himself would be unthinkable and would lead to immediate impeachment?"  "Uh, thankfully the president hasn't done anything wrong and wouldn't have any need for a pardon," Sanders replied.   When pressed on the matter, Sanders largely repeated her previous response, commenting, "thankfully, the president hasn't done anything wrong and therefore wouldn't need one."
Trump had made the comment in a tweet earlier in the day while referring to special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russia's interference in the 2016 election as a "witch hunt." "As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong? In the meantime, the never ending Witch Hunt, led by 13 very Angry and Conflicted Democrats (& others) continues into the mid-terms!" Trump tweeted.  Hours later, he wrote, "The appointment of the Special Counsel is totally UNCONSTITUTIONAL! Despite that, we play the game because I, unlike the Democrats, have done nothing wrong!"
