In a move that may raise many eyebrows - West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has decided to skip the NITI Aayog meeting as it coincides with Eid-ul-fitr. The NITI Aayog meeting is scheduled on June 16. Mamata reportedly said that no representative would be sent on her behalf. Justifying her decision to skip the meeting Mamata claimed that she can’t leave the state as it’s a national holiday. Stressing further on the need to stay in the state Mamata Banerjee said that she can’t leave as all holidays including Durga Puja is extremely important to her. She didn’t say anything about attending the meeting in case the date of Eid is changed.
