A burial site containing over 70 Roman skeletons haS been uncovered from beneath a hotel swimming pool.
The bones were found during the excavation of a former hotel site in the historic city of York where builders are part-demolishing the building to make way for seven homes.
Some remains, dating as far back as 50BC, included large copper head pieces that had eroded to leave a green mark on the forehead of some of the 'well-off' Romans.
