Hundreds of surfers waved goodbye to the legendary father of their sport and inventor of the wetsuit with a mass paddle. They turned out in huge numbers at one of Britain's most popular beaches to remember the legendary Jack O'Neill who died last month. O'Neill invented the first surfing and bodysurfing wetsuits in the 1950s and opened his first surf shop near Ocean Beach in California. He also coined the phrase 'Surf Shop' which he later received as a US trademark and his name is one of the most recognised surfing brands today.
