The star of a stage revival of Trainspotting has revealed how he recreated the iconic opening scene - by running down a street in Glasgow to get in role. Actor Lorn Macdonald sprinted down Sauchiehall Street in preparation for playing Mark Renton in a new production of the play. But he was so convincing, locals mistook him for a shoplifter. He said: "People genuinely thought I was shoplifting but because I came back and had to do the shot again, they thought I had a conscience." The actor was initially wary of playing such an iconic role, made famous by Ewan McGregor.
