A have-a-go-hero pharmacy worker sent an armed robber packing after fending him off using a HENRY HOOVER. Shocking CCTV shows the balaclava-clad thug storming into the chemist with a baseball bat before fleeing empty handed after being whacked with the cleaning equipment. The yob had walked into Day and Night Pharmacy on Osmaston Road, Derby ,where he demanded cash from the till at around 11.20pm on September 2. But the two defiant workers who had been cleaning at the time used their vacuum cleaners to keep the would-be robber at bay. The frustrated thug can then be seen damaging the counter after smashing it with the bat before leaving the scene empty-handed. He was spotted retrieving a small, child-like BMX bicycle from behind a nearby white van before cycling off toward Cotton Lane.
