Residents managed to capture the moment as the aircraft flew towards the airport while full of passengers coming from Iceland. Kevin McArdle, who lives under the flight path at Heathrow in Parsons Green, west London, took video footage of planes getting hit by lightning bolts throughout the evening. The 12-minute clip shows the bolt striking the Icelandair flight from Reykjavik get struck by lightning as it was coming into land just after 8pm last night.
