Hundreds of seabirds washed up along the south coast of Britain yesterday covered in a ''waxy, glue-like'' oil. The RSPB say some of the birds, which include guillemots, have died but rescuers are trying to save others. They were found washed up and covered in a white oily substance in Chesil Cove, Weymouth, Portland in Dorest, Torquay in Devon and in Cornwall. A spokesman for the RSPCA said around 100 were found covered in the "greasy film" and many "have very sore legs".
