Delaware Is First New State to Offer Sports Betting Governor John Carney announced on Thursday that the state will begin accepting sports wagers next Tuesday. Delaware has all necessary legal and regulatory authority to move forward with a full-scale sports gaming operation, and we look forward to next week’s launch. We’re hopeful that this will bring even more visitors into Delaware to see firsthand what our state has to offer. Delaware currently has three different casinos that will accept betting on single games and on future odds for all the major sports. Sports betting became legal on May 14 when the Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amatuer Sports Protection Act.
