The Palms is transforming its image with a $620M renovation. A new 13-foot-tiger shark is prominently displayed at the Unknown, the Palms’ new center bar. The shark is encased in three pieces in steel and glass cases filled with formaldehyde. It’s one of dozens of art pieces scattered throughout the hotel and casino, as part of the strategy to return the Palms to its glory days of when it first opened in the early 2000s. The casino is also expected to feature 4 new restaurants, room and suite renovations, the addition of a climate-controlled enclosure for the dayclub, and a new 29,000-square-foot nightclub.
