As an erupting volcano in Hawaii continues to wreak havoc, officials now say toxic gases emanating from the side of the Kilauea volcano is adding to the danger facing residents.
Health officials are urging residents to stay indoors or leave the eastern end of Hawaii's Big Island due to dangerous levels of sulfur dioxide gas and other emissions.
Besides the toxic fumes, officials said Tuesday that a 20th fissure releasing lava has opened on Kilauea's side.
No casualties have been reported so far since the volcano erupted earlier this month, but some two thousand residents have been ordered to evacuate.
However, many are refusing to leave.
