The Trump administration has rolled back more Obama-era rules. These rules were in place to help prevent transgender inmates in federal prisons from violence and sexual abuse.
The previous rule by the Federal Bureau of Prisons allowed transgender inmates to use facilities that matched their gender identity. Such facilities include housing and bathrooms. That precedent was set by the Obama administration two days before Donald Trump took the oath of office.
