Flooding, triggered by snow melt, of the Okanogan River and other rivers in southern British Columbia and northern Washington has caused widespread damage.

On May 11, Global News reported record flooding of the Granby, Kettle, and West Kettle rivers saying that rising waters had trapped some Grand Forks residents inside their homes. This video shows flooding in Grand Forks.

South of the border, in the US, the American Red Cross reported on that date that they had opened an emergency shelter for residents forced from their homes. Credit: Kathleen Costa via Storyful
