Headscarf debate rages in Germany as court rules on teacher

In Berlin, the wearing of headscarves for female teachers has been prohibited in primary and secondary schools since a 'neutrality law' in 2005. But Berlin's Labour Court has already ordered local authorities several times to pay compensation for refusing to hire teachers because of their hijab. The debate is raging once more as a ruling is expected in a Berlin court over a primary school teacher's right to wear a headscarf in class.
