Rail ticketing could be overhauled to make it fairer and easier to use under a public consultation aimed at simplifying the system.The current ticketing system is underpinned by regulations which are unchanged from the mid-1990s, resulting in around 55 million different fares now existing.Robert Nisbet from the Rail Delevery Group says a set of proposals will be put together which will be then discussed with governent ''to make sure that it is delivered so customers views are known''.
