The New York Times has published an analysis saying that verifying North Korea's denuclearization... would be the biggest undertaking in the history of nuclear disarmament.
The article, published Sunday, notes that the scale of the North's weapons programs dwarfs those of Iran and Iraq, who never acquired nuclear weapons.
It says the International Atomic Energy Agency, with its 300 or so inspectors... could be overwhelmed,... pointing to a report by the RAND Corporation saying North Korea has between 40 and 100 nuclear facilities.
And those facilities are well hidden.
It also notes that dismantling the North's nuclear program would require the regime's full cooperation,... and it's not clear that North Korea and the international community mean the same thing by "denuclearization."
