Record rainfall fell across Austin and the surrounding area on Friday, May 4. The National Weather Service said 3.59 inches of rain fell in Austin Mabry, breaking a daily record that has stood since 1895.
The weather service issued flash flood warnings during the storm and later issued flood advisories for several waterways, a news report said.
