Moving on to some brighter news for Chinese technology… a Chinese drone company has broken the Guinness World Record for the most drones flown simultaneously.
EHang put on the show over the weekend in the city of Xi'an, flying 1,374 illuminated drones spread over a kilometer for 13 minutes.
It broke the previous record set by U.S. chipmaker Intel, which flew 1,218 drones simultaneously at this year's PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
The Chinese drones formed various shapes in the night sky, which at times were unsuccessful, but still provided a stunning display.
