Mitt Romney, a former GOP presidential nominee, has given high marks to President Trump’s first year.

Mitt Romney, a former GOP presidential nominee and current U.S. Senate contender, has given high marks to President Trump's first year.  The Washington Examiner reports that when asked by voters on Tuesday how he planned to interact with the Trump administration, Romney replied, "His first year is very similar to things I'd have done my first year. The things he's actually done have been better than I expected."  "I will support the president's agenda when it's good for Utah, and good for the country, and so far that's been the case," the former Massachusetts governor also commented. That is, of course, a significant departure from Romney's previous comments about Trump, which included calling him a "fraud."  Romney is campaigning to fill the Utah U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Senator Orrin Hatch, notes The Hill. As he was unable to get the support needed to bypass the state's primary, he must emerge victorious against opponent Mike Kennedy, a serving state representative, to become the official nominee.
