A group of manatees was captured chasing a canoe off the coast of Florida.

The footage, captured on April 28, shows five manatees approaching a canoe and swimming alongside it.

The filmer writes: ''I saw a group of 5 manatees and when they spotted me, they chased after me to catch up.

''They can move pretty fast (about 15 mph) so they had no problem catching up to me.

''There was no way I was going to outrun them in a canoe.

''One of them kept trying to lift the canoe up with his nose.''
